Summary: Jamie has a house and Eddie thinks he should keep it
Author's Note: Guess this is Blue Bloods story number two. I read the prompt and knew I had to use it somehow and then there they were. Unexpectedly popping into my head. No beta other than the Hemingway App and my little brain. Grammarly isn't cooperating tonight.

"Whose house was this?" She asked as she got out of the vehicle.

Jamie got out and locked the doors. "My great grandmother's. She left it to her sister and then she left it to my mother since she didn't have any kids."

"And now your dad wants you to look at it? To see if you want to leave and live out here?"

Jamie smiled. "Yeah. I've put myself in harms way one too many times and he's thinking I might want to think about Law again." He shook his head. "I'm not going to but I think he knows that, too."

"God it's beautiful."

"Yeah." He knew it was beautiful, he just didn't know what he would ever do with a house like this.

Eddie made her way up the walk and stepped on the porch. "Creaky boards so you'll have to fix those."

"Who says I'm going to be the one fixing anything?" Jamie followed her to the porch.

She ignored his question and walked around the side of the house. "Huge porch. Thought these were only in the South."

"Her family was from the South. She remembered visiting as a little girl and fell in love with the porches."

"They're great porches to fall in love with, that's for sure. You can do anything with a porch this size. A swing, a table for an early morning breakfast while you watch the sunrise, or watch the sun set if you want. You can put chairs everywhere. You could even have a swing on each side of the house."

"You seem to like porches."

"Not all porches. This one. This porch is a great one." She stepped off the porch and walked into the back yard. "Jamie, you have to keep this house. Look at the yard. And the gardens."

Jamie stood on the back porch and looked across the yard as he tried to imagine living there. "I don't know, Eddie."

"Yes. Rent it out until you're ready to retire. Or if you decide you'd rather live the country life. Jamie, this is beautiful and you have to keep a place like this in your family if it's been around this long. A rare thing." She turned back and smiled as she wondered what it was like back in the day. The old house, with its wildly overgrown garden, was silent, secretive and she couldn't help but stare.

He looked once more at the beauty around him and brought his focus to Eddie. The smile on her face was as beautiful as anything he'd ever seen and before he knew it, he agreed to keep the house, fix it up, and rent it out until he was ready to live in it. He just hoped she would be standing in the exact same spot when he made that decision.
